“God delights in His children stepping out over the aching void with nothing under their feet but the Word of God!”
I have found it’s in those times when we get comfortable and have peace where God has brought us that He asks us to step out again into the unknown.
At the end of the day, dreams are not our destiny. Jesus is our destiny. And if we always aim at loving Jesus and ministering to His heart, we will always hit the mark. But if we aim solely for our dream and miss Jesus, what have we gained?
If we believe that our status in God has anything to do with our performance, then we need a clearer revelation of God’s love as a Father.
Our question should always be this: “Am I abiding in the Vine?” Because that is our true life’s motive. Abiding may take you in front of many or to a life dedicated to few. Both are holy, and one does not outweigh the other.
To live a Kingdom life is to live with the reality that whether my life is hidden or seen, big or small, it all is a part of the working of the Kingdom of God. If my offering is one of hiddenness, then let me be hidden and holy. If it is to be seen, then let me be humbly still hidden in Him.
When we are standing before the Lord at the end of the day and we hear those words, “Well done”—will He be saying “well done” because we were known? Or because we were faithful with what He asked us to do? That’s all He is asking of us—to be faithful with what He has entrusted in our hands.
The truth is, whether I feel Him or not, I know that He’s there. The degree to which I feel Him is not the degree in which He has moved.
The moments I don’t feel His closeness, it takes faith to know with all my heart that He is near. Why? Because the Word of God has told me that He is. I don’t need to feel it to know it.
The truth is you have nothing to worry about if it truly is from God. We have a responsibility to trust people to hear from the Holy Spirit for themselves. We are not the mediator between man and God. Jesus is. And the Holy Spirit carries the spirit of revelation of Jesus.
Fame and influence may come, but it’s not promised and it definitely is not the mark of God on my life. His presence is His mark on my life.
Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.
As ministers of the Gospel, we are called to purity and holiness. We are called to character. It’s not from a place of self-righteousness or legalism, but out of a place of love. I live holy because I’m in love with Jesus and it pleases His heart. I live a life of purity not just to say I am pure or boast in my own righteousness, but because it pleases the heart of my beloved.
In recent times, I’ve heard many in the States coming back to the simplicity of the Gospel, and it has encouraged my heart. This is the simple Gospel: simply sitting, simply loving, simply cherishing—first of all Jesus and then our neighbor.
Busyness does not equal fruitfulness. Being connected to Jesus does. Abiding in Him.
