While notoriety and fame are so often heralded as the ultimate Christian success, God is so delighted with those in holy hiddenness.
If you are in ministry, you are called to people.
We are only as spiritual as we are loving.
At the end of the day, dreams are not our destiny. Jesus is our destiny. And if we always aim at loving Jesus and ministering to His heart, we will always hit the mark. But if we aim solely for our dream and miss Jesus, what have we gained?
To live a Kingdom life is to live with the reality that whether my life is hidden or seen, big or small, it all is a part of the working of the Kingdom of God.
Worship is an issue of the heart, and its expressions are as unique as the person who is pouring it out.
How often have we set up anointed men and women of God on a pedestal and position in our lives that only belongs to God? Our eyes look to them instead of to God and our hearts are more open to their voice than to God’s. When we find ourselves here, then we know we have made golden calves out of anointed men and women of God.
When Paul is talking about the qualifications of an elder or a leader in the church, he states the following qualifications: 1.Blameless 2.Faithful to his wife 3.A man whose children believe and are not wild and disobedient 4.Not overbearing 5.Not quick-tempered 6.Not given to drunkenness 7.Not violent 8.Not pursuing dishonest gain 9.Hospitable 10.Loves what is good 11.Self-controlled 12.Upright 13.Holy 14.Disciplined Do you see how none of these actually have anything to do with someone’s natural gifts, talents, or anointing? This deals with character, the thing that we all have to work for.
So I fully believe that revival in a nation does not mean that every nation looks alike. I believe revival is when the Kingdom of God infuses every part of people’s lives. Things in a nation’s culture that go against the Gospel are removed and beautiful things in local culture are put to a holy purpose.
“Your answer is not found in more doing. Your answer is found in rest.”
One of my favorite songs is “To Those Who Wait” by Bethany Barnard. In this song she says, “You can do more in my waiting than in my doing I could do.”
