What is significant, however, about this coming one-world government is that current global conditions appear to be harbingers for its (perhaps) soon appearance. Like dominoes, one significant earthshaking occurrence leads to the next . . . and to the next.
The prophecies made by Daniel and John appear to be coming together at an accelerated rate, faster than at any time in modern memory. In short, never has the idea of a one-world government been as palatable to the international community as it is right now. And that should get our attention.
wherever there is truth, Satan seeks to counterfeit it. To sell it as a “knockoff,” a cleverly disguised and carefully cloaked forgery.
“See to it that no one misleads you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many” (Matthew 24:4–5).
The Bible tells us those days will inaugurate an era of great deception and horror, the likes of which the world has never before seen or experienced (Matthew 24:21).
Satan’s primary agenda for the world, from the first century until now, remains the same—to prevent people from hearing and believing the gospel, and thus from being saved. That is because when salvation does occur, the individual is “rescued . . . from the [Satan’s] domain of darkness, and transferred . . . to the kingdom of [God’s] beloved Son” (Colossians 1:13). It is critical to keep in mind that the devil craves control and worship.
Currently, the average person spends more than two hours per day on social media and more than five hours a day checking his or her phone, up to sixty-three times daily.1 More alarming is the fact that, according to a Barna study, in the past year, just 9 percent of Christians engaged in daily Bible reading.2 This is down from an already dismal 14 percent. Apparently, not even believers have room for God in their schedules. Distractions. 3.
This is why Paul urged the Ephesian believers, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes [lit., “cunning deceptions”] of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11 ESV). In fact, so refined are his masquerading skills that this prince of darkness “disguises himself as an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14).3 And because he can appear as an angel of light, only those with discerning hearts can spot the difference, not just between good and evil but also between truth mixed with lies (1 Corinthians 2:11, 15–16; Philippians 1:9; Hebrews 5:11–14).
This alignment of nations is delineated according to the four directions on the compass in their relationship to the nation of Israel. The king of the north is Russia (Rosh), joined by Turkey (Meshech, Tubal, Gomer, and Togarmah) and Iran (Persia) (Daniel 11:40; Ezekiel 38:1–6). The southern power, or king of the south, includes the modern Islamic nations of Egypt, Libya (Put), and Sudan (Cush) (Daniel 11:40; Ezekiel 38). The western quadrant includes the kingdom of the Antichrist—consolidated in the reunited Roman Empire. The nations east of the Euphrates River, called the kings from the

We all know it. We all know deep down inside that this world is not what it is supposed to be. We all yearn for things to be much better.
