“I’ll take you away from here…” he promised. “The only way I know how.” I trembled with the intensity of his words, watching as he slowly sank his fingers inside me. “Jesus,” he panted, biting his lower lip. “Christ, you’re a good girl. Look at how good you are.”
“You’re fucking mine, you understand that? You’re…mine. You go into the darkness, I’m right there with you. There’s no leaving me, Ryth. Not now, not ever…in this life, or the next.”
My fingers sank through her hair as her head bobbed. “That’s it, princess.” I closed my eyes. “Worship me.”
“My good little whore, aren’t you? My sweet, perfect whore of a sister…” Hard breaths consumed me as I stared into her eyes. “Fuck, I love you.”
“Tobias, are you okay?” I knew the words were coming. My smile was more like a fucking wince, but I gave her all I had. “Yeah, just tired.”
Anything she wanted. Fuck me. Hit me. Hate me… Just never leave me. Not again. Not ever again…
“I’m gonna use your body…gonna take your soul. Gonna steal that heart right out of your chest…the way you’ve stolen mine.”
No, I didn’t want him dead... I wanted him gone.
“If anything happens,” Tobias murmured. “Anything you’re not prepared for—”
“Then I’ll scream,” I answered, drawing his focus to me. “I’ll scream and you’ll come running, and then the bad guys will be dead.”
Tobias’s dark eyes were haunted, fixed on mine, as he whispered, “I can’t lose you.”
“Then don’t lose me.”
“Fine,” he muttered.
“Fine,” I answered, then held my breath and looked away.
“I’m fine,” I muttered, patting Nick’s arm. “I’m a big girl. If I can kill a man, I sure as hell can shower by myself.”
“Stab,” Tobias corrected. “Technically, you just stabbed him.”
“Sure,” I nodded, then staggered as I left....
