Keep the structure of the template “in play” as well as its content.  Templates can be a great way to structure your thinking, but they shouldn’t limit or dictate your thinking. Always be willing to change around the structure of the template if it does not seem to be helping your team achieve its goals. For bonus points, change the structure of the template with your team, to model for them that documentation can always be changed in the service of delivering better outcomes.
