When you are a product manager, there will be times when you need to ask people to do things that they don’t want to do. If these things are mission critical for your team’s success, help your team understand why and work with them to figure out what other tasks can be deprioritized. And if they are not mission critical for your team’s success, ask yourself whether you are thoughtfully prioritizing your team’s time or just saying yes to anything that seems vaguely important.
