“You’re the one that gets all ‘let me tuck you in my pocket and growl at anyone that looks at you’ with her.”
He’s not wrong. Waylynn brings something out in me I didn’t know existed—the capability to care for someone other than Oz and Bates. “Someone needs to take care of her.”
Oz is the only real family I have left, and we decided years ago that whoever came into our lives would need to accept us both.
but as the years passed, the idea changed into maybe just having one girl we could both be with.
I think we can make her see the benefits of being with both of us, plus I’m not sure she really has another option. I’m not giving up.
His dark blue eyes are only a few inches away when he says, “Eyes on me,” so quietly, I can barely hear him. Then he’s walking down to the stage, leaving me to wonder if he really said it out loud or if my mind is playing tricks on me again.
As I’m pulling my arm back, he darts forward and swipes his tongue across my lips.
“Your lips and hands can touch anything you like.”
“Let’s go before he hauls you over his shoulder and gets himself in trouble,”
“There’s just something about you, I like being around you,” he admits,
“We both do,” comes from behind me.
I realize two things—one, I would probably let them take me anywhere, and two, I’m not going to be able to give them up, despite how unhealthy it is, no matter what I keep telling myself.
If I want her this badly when I haven’t even touched her, then how bad is it going to be when I have? She’s going to consume me.
“Eyes up, Waylynn.” She hesitates for just a second, then peers up at me from under her lashes. The words good girl
“Don’t be afraid to tell him he’s being too bossy,”
“I like to know I have your attention,” I confess.
“You do,” Waylynn replies,
“Take advantage… You mean try to get in her pants before you could?”
“Nobody is going to touch her, but yes, she’s too trusting.”
“They said I only need to bring three friends with me next time to find out about their real mission. Do you have time to learn about your true calling?”
“Not nice, Wavy baby.” I hear Memphis sigh, probably from the silly nickname. “It’s a study group, not a cult.”
“He’s different…”
“I was going to say when he’s not with you. He’s intimidating all the time, but you soften his edges.”
The moment our lips touch, my head spins like I just got done twirling, and thoughts that do not belong to me whisper through my mind. Fuck, she feels good. I wish we were at home, I want to touch every inch of her.
“You have to stop looking at me like that, baby.”
Me: Like Red Mountain after it rains and pepper. I’m sorry I bumped into you. Sir: I’m not.
“Sorry, he said he wanted your eyes on him to make sure you were paying attention,” he explains.
“I always pay attention,” I defend but lower myself into the seat. “Don’t let it bother you, he just wanted to be close to you too,”
Oswald’s eyes soften, and he mumbles, “I want to kiss you so badly right now.”
“But that’s not a good idea, because I won’t want to stop.”
“I don’t like you being here alone all the time. Anything could happen, and I wouldn’t even know.” “You don’t have to worry. I have an alarm, and I’m good about locking the doors.”
“I will worry.” His grip tightens, and he pulls me a little closer.
These two make my head spin, but I wouldn’t trade their company for anything, let alone something simple.
“Oswald.” I jump at Memphis’ commanding tone. “Wake up.” “I’m up,” he replies with a sleepy groan. “I was having the best dream. I was eating Waylynn’s—” “Shut up,” Memphis snaps
“I almost fell back asleep,” she mumbles. “You guys are like Ambien. 2-5-7-4-2-2.” “Anytime you need help sleeping, we’re around,” Oz offers.
“Is it too soon to offer a key? I think I need roommates.”
“I like the idea, sweetheart, but not the title. We’ll see you later.” “Okay.” She sighs softly.
“Not with you, sweetness, but there’s something to be said for firsts. He got the kiss. I get your bed. We’ll share the others.”
“Our first, sweetness,”
“I’ll share.” I push the glass so it’s between us. “Offer accepted,”
“He’s not talking about the drink, he wants us to share you.”
“I get that, right there—acceptance of my instruction without question, your trust that I know what you need.”
He wants us to share you. I would be more than okay with that. It’s not exactly the social norm, but thruples are not unheard of.
The sexual tension between the two of them is off the charts the moment Memphis gets his hands on her. They are attracting a hell of a lot of attention from the people sitting around them, and I know that’s the last thing they need.
