Documented core processes help new employees get up to speed and begin contributing much faster. Managers deal with fewer basic questions and can spend their precious time coaching, mentoring, developing people, and improving processes. You and fellow leaders will have more time to imagine, think, strategize, plan, and (gasp!) lead.
