CONCLUSION: RUSHTON’S RULE OF THREE It should be obvious by now that there is a specific order of race differences revealed by the three major races of mankind: blacks are at one end, Northeast Asians at the other, and whites in-between. This point has been repeated over and over again with respect to a wide range of human characteristics and behaviors. In fact, Rushton claims that this same order is found for some sixty variables, of which he lists thirty-two.273 I summarize some of his discussion and add a few variables of my own in Table 7.7. As mentioned previously, this order has been called “Rushton’s Rule of Three.”274 The pattern is extraordinary. The probability of any specific order of the three races is one-sixth (the six possible orders are A-W-B, A-B-W, W-B-A, W-A-B, B-A-W, B-W-A, where A = Asian, W = white, and B = black), but the probability of achieving the same order for a large number of variables will be exceptionally low. For example, in the table there are nineteen orders listed, and seventeen of them are the same (A-W-B). The probability of that order happening seventeen times by chance alone will be infinitesimal. This means that we are not dealing here with a sequential order that is occurring seventeen times independently or randomly, but with a process in which each sequential order is inextricably intertwined with every other (identical) sequential order.
