Table 6.1 presents data on three of the most serious crimes in the United States.192 In 2018, blacks committed slightly more than half of all homicides and robberies and a third of all serious assaults. Taking into account their respective proportions of the population, blacks committed homicide and robbery at about six times the rate of whites, and serious assault at nearly three times the white rate. Northeast Asians were at the opposite end, committing serious crimes at a fraction of the white rate and an even smaller fraction of the black rate.
