And the cells have evolved a kind of entanglement with each other. Now it’s hard to break them apart, until the furrow of dead cells forms. And some of them have started dissolving the walls between them. We’re trying to see if they’re beginning to form some sort of channel of communication to deliver nutrients, or signals, across these large clusters.
