One LGBTQ+ symbol I’m 99.9% sure you know about is the six-stripe rainbow flag. The idea of the flag started in the 70s when artist Gilbert Baker created an eight-stripe flag which also included hot pink and turquoise stripes. This was refined to six stripes over the years and it became the symbol we use today. Each color has its own significance to the LGBTQ+ community:
