Love sneaks up and snatches a heart from its owner so fast they don’t seem to know it’s gone for days, weeks, sometimes months.

I could keep her. Keep her forever. That’s all I wanted.

“If I lose you, Lilah, you know I’m going to make sure you remember me,”

We got to heaven together. But who knew it would be just seven days before I experienced the hell that was losing her.

“I don’t want ‘a way out’ from you ever.

I wasn’t going anywhere without you. I’m still not. I’ll wait forever for a baby with you, or we’ll be happy without one.”

It’s not a complete freedom. It’s fractured and broken and wrecked.”
