You Shouldn't Have Come Here

I had several bad habits that I knew I needed to break and plenty of good ones that I should instill further.

The horror novel I brought promised I’d be frightened, but I’d be the judge of that. It took a lot to scare me.

But not everything was meant to be free. Some things had to be kept in cages.

I only started doing the throw-a-dart-at-a-map vacation six years ago. It had led me to Florida, California, Maine, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and California again, but thank God it was on the opposite end of the state the second time around.

Too many predators.

Every relationship eventually loses its luster. You get bored. It becomes routine, mundane. And then you find yourself seeking that excitement and spark elsewhere.

We all did have bad dreams, but I always believed they were warnings, the subconscious trying its best to alert you that something in your waking world was amiss.
