He stares me down for a moment before he finally speaks again, his monotone voice sending chills down my spine. “That is the difference between this time and last. This time, we’re going to survive this. All of us. I’m not going to kill the vessel. I’m going to use it to keep you forever.”

“We’re not all going to get out of here alive. If you need to take our souls to live, do it. We will return to you again in another cycle,” the Corvus says, but I shake my head. “There is no use being here unless we're together. There is no me without you.”

There’s a stark difference between the man and the bond. The ways they move are nothing more than an echo of each other. I find myself desperate to know how far those differences go. Will they fuck differently too? Will he eat me out like Gryphon does, as though he’s a starved man who needs the taste of me to survive? “Yes, to all of it.
