I brush my lips against the shell of his ear as I ask, “Alix? How do you feel?” He lets out a long, contented sigh. “Quiet.” I smile and stroke my thumb down his neck. “I’ll keep going as long as you want me to.” Alix sighs again. “Just a little while longer.”
