“That six-month deal? It’s off, Nina,” I say and squeeze her waist. “I don’t care what we agreed. You’re mine now and I’m not letting you go. Ever.”
Roman just nods, passes his right crutch to Dimitri, takes my hand, and starts walking toward the exit. I take a look at our joined hands, but quickly look up and focus on the car parked some distance away. My eyes fill with happy tears as I adjust my pace to match Roman’s.
I need her to say yes. There is no way I can go through one more night without my wildcat curled into my side. She took my black heart with her the day she left, and if she says no, she can keep it. I’m ruined for anyone else anyway.
