linger in the doorway, just staring at her. “What?” she asks, confused because I still haven’t moved. “I love you so fucking much.” A coy smile tilts up the corners of her mouth. “I love you too.”
I wrap my arms around her from behind. She’s right. Cars line both sides of the street, including her driveway. “Good thing you’re not going anywhere tonight.”
“You’re the worst, Gavin Leonard.” A slow smile replaces the glare. I place an open-mouth kiss to her shoulder and then bite lightly. “The absolute worst.”
“See you on Sunday.” I steal another kiss. Nine years of kissing her whenever I want, and it never gets old. “To be continued, Mrs. Leonard.”
sneaky wife. She meets me halfway with a smug smile. “Fancy seeing you here.”
“You’re really surprised? I thought for sure you’d figure it out. I had to look away every time I lied about not coming.” “You are a spectacularly bad liar, but I had no idea. This is amazing. Thank you.”
Austen explores the small space while I wrap an arm around Violet. “What do you think?” she asks. “That I love you. That I’m damn lucky. That this tent used to seem a hell of a lot bigger.” A small laugh escapes her lips, and she leans forward to kiss me. “And that life with you… definitely, not the worst.”
