I shed my shirt and tossed it into the wastebasket, getting blood out of my clothes was too much work.

Are the characters going to start talking to us now... I'm not a fan of this and wished the author would have started earlier in the book, so I could have stopped reading. I rather not rate a book, based on my preference of storytelling, but It's annoying when you start getting into a story and then they change over.
