Nevertheless, it’s surprising that China’s done nothing to retaliate against the hobbling of its most global tech firm. It has repeatedly threatened to punish U.S. tech firms but never pulled the trigger. Beijing said it was drawing up an “unreliable entity list” of foreign companies that endanger Chinese security, but it doesn’t appear to have added any firms to the list.
