Both the Dish with One Spoon and Two Row treaties provided a way for distinct peoples to live together without conflict. They recognized the rights of not only the humans involved in the treaty-making process but also other relatives. Remember that for Indigenous peoples in the Americas, the entire world is alive with people—and not just those of the human variety.
