“See?” Raiden shook his head. “A nightmare. Even worse than the time I got excited to make pizza only to realize I didn’t have any cheese. You can’t have pizza without cheese. Not unless you like eating sadness and disappointment.”
How could someone be so ridiculously hot, adorably innocent, a total badass during fights, and sort of ditsy at the same time? A dangerous combination. That danger being to my damn self-control.
Attraction had always been different for me. I very rarely found myself smitten with someone. Sex was one thing, but feeling a genuine spark with another person—crushing on them—was about as rare as me seeing pizza and not eating it. But there was no mistaking it. I was drawn to Titan. Attracted. He was my uneaten slice of pizza. And damn did I want to devour him.
I felt so warm. Weightless. Staying away from him was impossible when being near him felt this fucking good.
“What’s wrong with wanting to please other people?” His light blue eyes flickered back to me. “Nothing’s wrong with that.” I nudged his knees apart and lowered my body on top of his, settling between his legs. “But you also need to take care of yourself. Your wants matter too.” “I eat pizza all the time. That’s about the extent of my wants.” My body shook with a laugh. He was too damn precious. “Food doesn’t count.” “Hey, watch your mouth.” Raiden returned my grin, though his probably looked better.
“I got my eye on the walking creep show,” Raiden told me, his gaze on Purah. “You can take the sparkly one.” “Sparkly?” Vepar scoffed. He knelt on the branch and rested his sword on his shoulder. The weapon was completely white, from the hilt to the tip of the blade, and it emitted a low vibration, as if it was electrically charged. “I prefer the term ethereal.” “Sucks to be you, then, Sparkles,” Raiden said. “’Cause I don’t know what that means.” Castor barked out a laugh before stifling it. “Goddammit, Ray.”
He rebelled with Lucifer in the beginning but came to regret his betrayal once on Earth. They had struck a deal, you see. Lucifer would reign over the human realm with his eight generals while he ruled the underworld. So when Lucifer took the crown for himself, it caused a rivalry between them. Many refer to Mephistopheles as the fallen angel who hates the light.” “Lucifer means light bearer,” Alastair said. “Mephistopheles’ hatred of the light is not a physical attribute but one derived from resentment.” “Wow,” Daman said. “And people call me petty.”
“Look what’s in the oven,” Raiden told him. Daman’s green-eyed gaze flashed to the stove. “Is that what I think it is?” Raiden grinned. “Yup.” “You’re my favorite brother.” Daman bent down in front of the oven and peered through the glass. “Hey,” Bellamy said from the other room. “I heard that, you bitch.” “Suck it up, B.” Daman stood back up. “You’re pretty, but you can’t cook for shit. My favorite brother is now Ray.”
