A longtime friend is a very bright guy with an Ivy League degree, but compulsive talking has cost him jobs because (a) he could not resist telling his colleagues that they were dimwits; and (b) they usually did not appreciate his candor.
The meds don’t cure you, but they can tamp down the noise in your brain so that you can work on your issues in therapy. For what it’s worth, overtalkers love therapy.
