Until this moment, this second, I hadn’t realized that I had been looking for her my entire life.
Her heat surrounded us, and I knew I would never be cold again if she was with me.
I wanted all of her, inside and out, only her.
“I possess earth, fire, and ice. The very wind that gives you chills on a blustery day is the same one that runs through my veins. I am the elements.”
“Straighten your crown, dear girl. Face those who don’t believe in you with pride in who you are.”
I wanted everything to be her choice.
All hers. I would always be just for her.
All for you, Raven. Only for you.
I’d read an entire goddamn book aloud for her if she would just come a little closer.
Some villains were born, but I would be made. I would be her devil to keep her protected.
“Raven, you could wear a burlap sack, and I’d still want to bury myself in you.”
I just needed someone to choose me.
“Protect me, but don’t suffocate me.”
There was nothing to fix. My broken pieces mattered.
“I would’ve burned the very soil of this world for you.”
I’d never truly be alone. Not anymore. Not ever again.
