In winter?” I gave him a reassuring nod and patted his arm. “I really just want to sleep.” He didn’t move, pushing out his bottom lip. “Stay with me, Raven. We’ll sleep on the balcony,” he persisted. His fingers circled my wrist, and he started to swing it, tugging at my arm until I finally nodded. Staying with him would be better than the mental anguish I would endure alone.
