Sure, today you have social media to instantaneously share information and get the word out, but there is just so much more content. So many more pieces of information in so many different categories. Back in the day there was less to consume and less to be consumed with. The larger word-of-mouth stories were not clouded and cluttered by the onslaught of special interests and subcategories.

Bullying is an extremely complicated issue. Especially nowadays, with technology and social media at our fingertips. It’s all more complex than ever. It has gone way beyond the schoolyard threats and the taking of lunch money that I remember as a kid. With that, I want to preface these following examples of the show’s impact and inspiration with the disclaimer that I am in no way trivializing the issue, as it can be both deep-rooted and devastating, with a wide spectrum of severity.
