It’s a joke, some sick, stupid joke. That’s all. Just stick next to Ava. You’ll be fine. They’ll give up when they see you aren’t going to play along.

The new pairs of underwear I’ve placed in her drawer. Granted, it was only right, since I keep taking her old ones.

“Sweet dreams, little star.” I whisper, kissing the top of her head, “I love you. More than you know.”
