(The allusion is to Vivaldi’s famous Four Seasons; Piazzolla, who helped incorporate tango into the classical canon, took snatches of Vivaldi’s themes and inverted and transposed and otherwise renovated them—the seasons in the southern hemisphere are reversed, after all.)
