“Tough titty, ghost man. That’s my house now. We either learn to live together or your ass is out of there,” I say confidently.

I can’t explain it, but I know she’ll always be safe with me. I’d start and end wars for her. I’d protect her with my life.

“This is my house. I’m not going anywhere.” I correct her, “Our house because I’m not either.”

I lean into Maven and whisper into her ear, “Because you’re so fucking hot. You have no idea how much I want to sink my fangs into you, taste you, and have you beg for me.” I’m not sure why I’m wanting to make her uncomfortable around her friend, but I do. All I have is time on my hands and ruffling Maven’s feathers is fun.

“Good girl,” I praise her and a blush forms on her cheeks. Oh, she likes that. Noted.

Maven is mine to protect. She will only ever need me at the end of the day, everyone else, they are just temporary. I’m for eternity.

She giggles, standing on her tiptoes to give me a kiss on the cheek. I have to bend down for her to reach me, but gladly will I bend for her even if it means I break.
