“I don’t want to share.” He narrows his eyes. “If I’m not allowed to touch anyone else, then neither are you.”
He is an unholy sight. And I will never stop sinning for him. I move to stand to go to him but he tsk-tsks at me and shakes his head. “Did I tell you to get off your knees?” he says. “You’ll crawl to me.”
“Please, Darling,” I add. “Let me take care of you.”
“She’s as much ours as she is yours,” Bash answers. “You don’t have to tell us to watch over her.”
Perhaps that’s why, when she’s in my arms, I feel like I’ve come home. I will never tell her that. I will not tell a soul. I don’t have weaknesses and certainly not pretty little Darling girls.
“Come to bed with me,” I tell her again. “Say yes, Darling.”
The sun may be rising, but as long as I’m in darkness, I can manage another hour or two. Long enough to make Darling scream my name.
“Who?” he repeats. “Give me a name so that I can cut the skin from their bones.”
Vane and I watch our Darling leave the room like she’s the sun setting below the horizon, taking her warmth with her.
