Not My First Rodeo: Lessons from the Heartland

I am the first woman to serve as governor of South Dakota. While this is deeply significant to me, I do not believe there are “women’s issues” any more than there are “men’s issues.” There are only issues that affect us all as Americans.

There is, however, a woman’s perspective on every single issue. That perspective is essential when we as a country make decisions about our freedom, defense, prosperity, health, and the well-being and happiness of our kids.

I would not follow the glittery distractions of whatever was popular or convenient at any given moment.

Their obvious imperfections gave them humility.

Where is your humility? Why have you attached yourself to a man who shows not an ounce of humanity and truly believes he is perfect? And letting him dictate everything?

There have been legions of books written on the differences between the sexes. There is no end to the amount of debate and analysis one can give to the topic. Here is my simplified summary: men tend to be blessed with this wonderful confidence that allows them to look at every challenge as one more thing to take on and accomplish, while women spend more time in self-reflection and analysis, which leaves them more hesitant to jump into new situations with both feet. This isn’t always true, and I’m sure you are already thinking of examples to prove me wrong. But I believe the discussion has merit, and there’s a general trend of evidence to my point.
