I’m in love with Kendall Hawthorne. I love my best friend’s very married mother. I just don’t know what the hell to do about it.

“You’re such an asshole.” “Because I’m not interested in you?” I lean down with a dark glare. “News flash, honey. It’s my birthday. My house. My body. What I do on it, in it, and with it is my business. Leave me alone or get the fuck out.” It’s rude as fuck, but I’m past the point of caring. Without waiting for a reply, I stalk off in search of my prey.

When he looks at me like this, touches me like this, all logical thought and previous convictions fly out the window. “Our souls are carved from the same entity. You are the other piece of me. I was meant to find you, Kendall. We were always meant to be.”

“I love you too, Iris.” My voice is thick with emotion. “I promise I’m going to see you all the time from now on.” I sweep my fingers down her cheek. “Silly Daddy.” She tweaks my nose. “I already see you every night in my dreams.”
