It occurred to me that maybe I was where I was today because I hadn’t chosen anything.
Oh.....
Had I ever chosen anything on my own, made something happen? Not once. And that’s why I was here now, all alone.
“You being you, I’m guessing you haven’t. Because you like it that way.” “Like it what way?” I asked. “Come on, you know. You like doing things the easy way.” “Easy?” I said, sending the word back. “Easy how?” “You know, the easy way. Not getting caught up in other people’s lives, keeping everything to yourself, if you could have it your way.”
Ohh...
“I’d call that easy. Just going through life without asking anything of anyone, or letting anyone ask anything of you. Sounds pretty easy to me.” “Is it, though?” I asked.
