“Want me to sit in and talk to you while you have your bath?” She stopped and spun around. “What? No!” I squinted at her. “Vincent did.” Her cheeks went pink. “I knew Vincent wouldn’t take a peek. He’s a gentleman. You…” I couldn’t help the grin that spread across my face. I was anything but a gentleman.
“Don’t talk about your thighs like they’re anything other than my favorite thing to get between.”
Fuck. I was so pussy-whipped for her. I could only see it getting worse, but I didn’t care. I wasn’t ready to give her up.
“Because you know him so well? Sweetie, he ditched you for me. So while you’re standing in a glass house, perhaps you shouldn’t throw stones. If you want to hang out in here cleaning up after him, go right ahead. I’m going to have a shower. He’ll be joining me, so maybe you could do me a favor and tell him to bring in a towel.” I moved toward the bathroom door, silently giving myself a high five for not being a complete and utter doormat. It might not have been the most cutting of comebacks, but it was probably as good as I was going to get.
