Ten years ago Rory watched through a window as her sister was brutally murdered, setting in motion Rory’s path to becoming one of the most prolific serial killers in all of Erdikoa.
“Two were one, and one is yours.” Rory’s eyes burned. “Mom, it’s okay. Let’s get you to bed.” “No,” her mother insisted and snatched her hands away. “Listen to me Aurora, do not let him fool you; his darkness is poison. Only the golden child can save you.”
“This is my palace,” he said, waving around a spoon. “What are you doing here? Ah, that’s right. You murdered thirteen innocent people.”
“Do you make donuts with cream cheese in them?” she asked. “I would kill for one. Not literally. Well, maybe.” Asher’s drink shot through his nose as he laughed.
Sam’s face had the emotional range of a dial tone.
“She’s my Aeternum,” Caius said as he slammed open Samyaza’s door. “Did you know?”
Sam said as he pulled an entire banana out of his pocket. “How did you fit a banana in your pants?” “My pants already carry something much larger.” Sam grinned as he peeled the fruit and took a large bite.
“I’ll miss you enough for both of us,” she whispered
“I may not remember you,” he whispered back. “But when I see your face or hear your name, my soul will know you’re good.”
“Your words are honey, but your actions reek of shit because you are full of it. No woman wants a man who treats her like an insignificant ant, not even if he is a king.”
Rory stood motionless, taking in the gore of it all. “I knew you weren’t a house cat.”
