“If you’d stop being a prick to her, she might end up liking you,” Sam said as he pulled an entire banana out of his pocket. “How did you fit a banana in your pants?” “My pants already carry something much larger.” Sam grinned as he peeled the fruit and took a large bite.

“I would set this entire realm ablaze to keep you safe, and if you think I’m bluffing, you haven’t been paying attention.”

“What else?” she demanded, her voice holding authority that made his pants tighten uncomfortably. There’s my girl who might kill me, he thought.

Rory was more confused now than when the conversation started. “Explain it to me like I’m a child,” she said to the giant turkey.
