“You doing ok, kid?” It was my turn to chuckle, but it definitely wasn’t out of amusement. “Not really, no. I just found out everything I thought I knew was a lie. My dad hates me. My mom is either straight-up psycho or hexed and tried to kill my boyfriend’s dad, in addition to two of my classmates and my best friend. Oh, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to fail all of my classes this semester because I haven’t been to class in weeks because of the demon hunting my ass.”
