I made my way to Cassius’s bed quietly. I kicked off my shoes before climbing into it. “Cash?” I slipped my hand beneath the sheets, looking for his. It was warm when my fingers curled around it. He squeezed mine in return, instinctively it seemed, since he didn’t open his eyes. I nestled down in the pillow next to him, watching him sleep. “I’m sorry,” I whispered. “I don’t care if you spend the rest of your life hating me. I’ll never stop apologizing for everything I’ve done.”
