Straights have so many dating options, it’s hard not to take it personally when they’re picky about their dates. Hannah has dated so many boys in our class—and like, good for her, she should do what she wants—I just wish I had that many options to choose from. To have so many boys lining up for me that I’d have that freedom of choice. Most of my options are already paired off, not out, not dating, or aren’t sure what they’re looking for yet.

I’ve been in Elliot’s shoes before, and it hurts to see it happen in real time: you start talking, start revealing, and before you realize what you’re doing, you’re spilling all the stuff in your life you pretend isn’t happening.
Elliot is like this mirror that only reflects the most amazing version of you.
Elliot would be the perfect friend to ride in the carriage with, because when I do it, I want to be laughing, not livestreaming the whole thing.
It’s not like with Grant, where he stoops to kiss me. Elliot and I are identical heights. A match.
