Lisa really did believe in God’s word — all of it. So, whenever she’d think about Henry Carter, she’d think about Matthew 5:44, as well, and whisper to herself, “But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”
She smiled. Look at God giving me exactly what I need. He’s always on time.
Someone had scribbled three words on it. Lo and behold, it said: She’s the one.
Caring, considerate, compassionate, beautiful… Yep, this one right here is definitely the complete package.
“And all of this mess ain’t nothing but the devil. John ten and ten: The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. The devil’s trying to come in and ruin a good thing. He wants to steal, kill, and destroy our good thing, Bae.
She nodded. “Yep. Look at God. You never know how He intends to use you. You never know how much good is gonna come out of you doing good.”
Matthew 5:44 woman… She grinned. She liked the sound of that. “Thank you. But like I love to say: It wasn’t me; it was God. Or more specifically, the God in me.”
Lisa was kind, considerate, smart, and beautiful. But to Tyrone, it was her commitment to her walk with Christ that was the royal icing on the cake.
it’s from 2nd Timothy, Chapter 1, Verse 7: For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” Kathy handed Lisa the note. “The spirit of fear that you have ain’t from God, Lisa. It’s from the devil. Don’t lose your soulmate on account of fear and the devil’s tricks.
She now realized that it was the extent of forgiveness that she’d been sometimes ignoring. It’s not really forgiveness if I don’t go all the way. God wants my all.
