His bi- or pansexuality made me uneasy, primarily because I wanted both of us to feel the same way about everything. But he had a way of making me feel like the center. It didn’t matter if we were with friends or in class or at the prom, I knew that his eyes were trained on me, following me around the room, ready to wink in my direction.
