Prior to Jet touching his leg—to getting inches away from an intimate caress—he wouldn’t have been surprised if the man was just being nice. But he didn’t think so anymore. Even with his self-esteem somewhere around sea level, Taylor couldn’t ignore the obvious signs.
“You look like a fuckin’ serial killer, running with a damn smile on your face,” King said when Jet turned his run to cool down.
Why don’t you take me to where we’re going to eat, then you can show me to the bathroom because I need to piss.” Taylor grimaced, but something about the way Jet didn’t mind being casual—like he wasn’t focused on being perfect and sexy—set him at ease. He never quite got there with Braedon over the years. His ex still left the room to fart after four years, and when Taylor had told Braedon he did it in his sleep, he’d flipped out and refused to talk to Taylor for the entire day.
“I had to get my fingers all up in everything,” Jet admitted, looking a little sheepish. “But I promise I washed them before I came out of the bathroom.” Taylor rolled his eyes and set the cups down before he settled next to the other man. “Considering where I’m willing to let you put your fingers, I don’t care if they touch my food.” Jet froze, a faint dusting of pink rising on his cheeks. For a second, Taylor wondered if he was going to laugh, then the man leaned in and nosed at his ear.
“You’re so fucking perfect. So good. Sweetheart, I…” Jet stopped, and Taylor could only begin to wonder what those lost words were going to be. He didn’t ask, though. Whatever it was, they’d come in time. This was just the beginning after all. And if he was very lucky and very good, there might not be an ending.
“You make me so fucking happy. Do you know that?” “Yes,” Jet said because he did. He knew exactly what his lover was saying. This wasn’t just for a moment or for a little while. It wasn’t just for a long time or for as long as they both lived. This love between them transcended heaven and hell. It was forever. And he would see the end of time before what they had faded into dust.
