“And I’ll answer your real question,” he said, voice now a whisper of breath against my skin. His other hand slid up and into my hair, angling my neck so there was more of it for him to taste. “Why would you belong to us?”
“Because we’re not men, Christine. We’re monsters. And monsters don’t fucking. Share.”
“I would rather have a life with you, and follow you into the afterlife, than to be immortal alone. The others feel the same.”
