As Whyte reflects, “It’s astonishing how much time human beings spend away from that frontier.” The default path keeps people from this frontier but the pathless path pushes you towards it. To Whyte, the cost of not moving towards the frontier is profound, as we often risk missing out on a “deeper, broader, and wider possible future that’s waiting.”
