“I like the way you hurt me, little bird.” My entire body lit on fire. It always happened when he was around. Ever since we’d bonded, I couldn’t get enough of him. “Damien.” “I love it when you say my name,” he purred.
“Kian, you’re my mate too.” I placed my hand on his arm, and he froze.
“Get back to pleasing our mate,” Damien rumbled. “Or I’ll take over.” “Fuck that,” Alister snarled before his tongue flicked over my sensitive spot again and again.
“He stole another pair.” Alister gripped my chin in between his index finger and thumb. “How many has the demon stolen?” “That would make five,” I grumbled, with my cheeks burning. I really needed to go buy more.
“Don’t stare at her,” he muttered. “Be respectful.” I gasped, turning my head to look at him. It was an effort not to glance up at our mate. “I was staring with the maximum amount of respect!” “No,
I groaned, tilting my head back and tucking myself into my waistband. “She’s so fucking hot when she runs.” “Werewolves and their need to hunt their prey,” Kian muttered as he walked in the direction she went.
“Do you know what I really need?” he growled in my ear. “A break from work.” He flipped me over and settled between my legs. His girth strained against his pants and filled the space between my legs as he pushed his body against mine. “Only if that break includes being inside of my mate.”
“I’d do anything for you. I’d even reanimate for you, and you know how I feel about that.”
“To set the record straight,” Damien started with glee in his tone. “Wren’s mine. She’s my mate. The Fates also mated her with six others. The bitch with a hole in her stomach had a point. We are powerful men, but Wren didn’t do anything to make us notice her. We did that all on our own. And I swear to Kalista, if anyone talks to my little bird like that again, I’ll peel your skin off and feed it to you.”
“We could kill them,” Damien offered, running a hand through his hair. Alister let out a sigh. “We can’t just kill everyone.” “Why not? Wouldn’t it solve the problem?” Damien tilted his head.
“You did. I would kill for her. I have killed for her. I would give my own life for hers, and I know damn well all of her mates would do that. I don’t give a flying fuck if you’re the strongest one of us. We can keep her safe too.”
