“I like the way you hurt me, little bird.” My entire body lit on fire. It always happened when he was around. Ever since we’d bonded, I couldn’t get enough of him. “Damien.” “I love it when you say my name,” he purred.
“Kian, you’re my mate too.” I placed my hand on his arm, and he froze.
“Get back to pleasing our mate,” Damien rumbled. “Or I’ll take over.” “Fuck that,” Alister snarled before his tongue flicked over my sensitive spot again and again.
“He stole another pair.” Alister gripped my chin in between his index finger and thumb. “How many has the demon stolen?” “That would make five,” I grumbled, with my cheeks burning. I really needed to go buy more.
was laid flat on my back too. “Don’t stare at her,” he muttered. “Be respectful.” I gasped, turning my head to look at him. It was an effort not to glance up at our mate. “I was staring with the maximum amount of respect!”
I groaned, tilting my head back and tucking myself into my waistband. “She’s so fucking hot when she runs.” “Werewolves and their need to hunt their prey,” Kian muttered as he walked in the direction she went.
“What? Have you not seen how beautiful she is when she’s getting pleasured? It’s the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever witnessed.”
“Do you know what I really need?” he growled in my ear. “A break from work.” He flipped me over and settled between my legs. His girth strained against his pants and filled the space between my legs as he pushed his body against mine. “Only if that break includes being inside of my mate.”
“You’re right, but this time, I don’t just want to make love to you. I want to claim you. I want you to feel my cock long after we finish.”
Rowan was like a wildfire. He came into my life and consumed all of me. I wanted everything he could give me. Every kiss, every touch, and every murmured word.
I gave a little sigh of contentment as he stood and threw the towel in the bin before sweeping
“Did you know that mates have the same life expectancy?” he asked, and I turned my head up to look at him. “What happens if there’s more than one?” He smiled, glancing down at me. “Then they all have the same. When bonds form, it links the souls. Unless foul play or illness is introduced, mates are supposed to die together.”
“I’d do anything for you. I’d even reanimate for you, and you know how I feel about that.”
My lips tugged into a grin as I nodded like a lovesick fool—but that’s exactly what I was.
Labels attached to Damien consisted of psychopath, murderer, freak, and more terrible names—but to me, he was simply perfect.
I’d noticed the pull with all my mates, but the pull was different with each of them. There was something about Damien’s that was… obsessive. All-consuming.
Damien moaning praises while he was inside me was a high I’d chase the rest of my life.
“To set the record straight,” Damien started with glee in his tone. “Wren’s mine. She’s my mate. The Fates also mated her with six others. The bitch with a hole in her stomach had a point. We are powerful men, but Wren didn’t do anything to make us notice her. We did that all on our own. And I swear to Kalista, if anyone talks to my little bird like that again, I’ll peel your skin off and feed it to you.”
“We could kill them,” Damien offered, running a hand through his hair. Alister let out a sigh. “We can’t just kill everyone.” “Why not? Wouldn’t it solve the problem?” Damien tilted his head.
“We’re mates, Damien. You complete a part of my soul, and I want to do that for you, too.”
Rhett was hypnotizing when clothed, but naked, I wanted to be at his mercy for the rest of time.
“I promise you my soul.”
“That’s my little bird, becoming a creature of the flesh. I truly have corrupted you.”
His eyes took a different shape, but they were still honey brown. His snout poked out impossibly long, and sharp teeth glistened from the moonlight. His beast form was monstrous. There was no way of putting that lightly. Large muscles that brewed strength rippled under his stiff brown fur, and he stood on two hind legs with horrific claws I knew could rip open anything.
His wings outstretched behind him as he stopped twirling me, and I studied them. The blue butterfly wings were as big as before and glittered like diamonds. A sheen of ice covered them in this realm, making them even more gorgeous than they already were.
I actually took a step back from you last term for a reason. You needed to grow into a stronger version of yourself. It was time for you to find yourself, and you did. You are amazing, Wren.
“You have grown so much. There are sides of you that your other mates bring out. I hope to witness all of them.”
The world may have been failing, but at least I had my mate in my arms.
