He huffed and rolled his eyes before reaching toward my tie and moving it around until it covered the broken buttons. “I’ll be in the shadows.” “That’s stalking!” Trixie shook her head while Callie looked like she was about to pass out. “She loves it when I stalk her.” He winked at me before pressing another kiss to my lips. “I love you, little bird.”
“That would make five,” I grumbled, with my cheeks burning. I really needed to go buy more.
“Werewolves and their need to hunt their prey,” Kian muttered as he walked in the direction she went.
“To set the record straight,” Damien started with glee in his tone. “Wren’s mine. She’s my mate. The Fates also mated her with six others. The bitch with a hole in her stomach had a point. We are powerful men, but Wren didn’t do anything to make us notice her. We did that all on our own. And I swear to Kalista, if anyone talks to my little bird like that again, I’ll peel your skin off and feed it to you.”
“We could kill them,” Damien offered, running a hand through his hair. Alister let out a sigh. “We can’t just kill everyone.” “Why not? Wouldn’t it solve the problem?” Damien tilted his head. Thorn chuckled. “I have to agree with the shadow demon.” Damien smirked.
Damien moved fast, grabbing my chin with his hand. “I will rearrange the organs of anyone who dares to touch you. If someone so much as looks at you wrong while you’re gone, I will kill them slowly and make them watch every fucking thing I do to them.” His shadows faded, and his horns sank back into his skull.
I knew I lacked physical strength. Simmons had pointed that out rather quickly in Offense 101, but to hear my mate say that he couldn’t trust me to protect myself hurt. I didn’t know how to look him in the eye, so I squeezed mine shut. It was good Rowan had me pinned against the wall because I didn’t think I could hold myself up.
“I accept your apology. We just need to work on your anger problem.” I laughed through my tears, but his stern expression didn’t falter. I could see the guilt eating at him. So, I put my lips on his. “I love you both so much.” I mumbled against his soft lips as a feeling of warmth stole over me.
