I personally believe Tyson literally feels this way with or without the desk. The desk just intensified how he felt, and he used it as a crutch an excuse the reasoning for his thoughts and actions.

Ben "runs into Tyson" at the restaurant in an attempt to give him a warning whether about Diana or the desk I'm not sure but one would think Tyson would want to know what Ben is talking about. Instead, Tyson becomes upset with Ben.
