The natural chat of bar workers is often a kind of libertarian communist, free-associative conspiracism where the role of Das Kapital is performed by cannabis resin.
There’s a weird thing that happens with grief when people stop asking if you’re okay. Things have stopped for you, and it’s almost shocking to realise it’s not like that for everybody else. They’re looking forward to a movie, or a football game, or a date, or a whole bunch of stuff you feel you’ll never look forward to again. There’s also the fact that it will never feel real. What they don’t tell you is, once you make your way through all the other stages, you go right back to denial.
