“Because no one threatens your life in my presence unless they have a death wish.
I’m not sure if I can live—whether a short life or a long one—without having more of you.”
“If you ever felt an ounce of true love for your husband, then you should understand. Love makes one go to great and terrible lengths for the object of their affection. It makes us hurt. Defend. Even kill. And yes—sacrifice. Accept death.”
Those words are a nectar like nothing else, and I’ll never cease being awed by them. Honored by them. I’ll never take them for granted, never stop trying to earn them, live up to them.
I know someday I could lose her. Hurt her. She could hurt me. Love is always a risk. We’ll fight, we’ll argue. But I will bet time and time again that we will always return to one another.
